The new chipset for the Intel Atom processor will not work with Blu-ray.

The new chipset Intel GN40, designed for use with a processor Atom, will not support work with the HD-video, recorded onto discs Blu-ray, Fudzilla reports with reference to the statement representatives from Intel.
In Intel stressed that the chipsets will be able to operate high-definition video with a resolution of 1080r. However, this applies to, for example, broadcasts on the Internet, but not to the movie on the disc Blu-ray. The point is that in order to play the latest need more resources.
Previously, Intel representatives said that GN40 will allow to work with HD-video. However, they did not specify on the authorization of the video in question, also not reported whether GN40 work with discs, Blu-ray.
One of the main competitors GN40 platform is Nvidia Ion. According to Nvidia, it supports playback of high-definition video with a resolution of 1080r, and the discs Blu-ray.
