Company Sony was able to sell 50 million PlayStation 2 consoles in North America, sends agency Associated Press. This game system has been on the market a little more than eight years ago. The official launch of stations in the region took place on 26 October 2000.
It is not known how many consoles Sony was able to realize all over the world to date. In July last year, the company said that the total number of PlayStation 2 has exceeded 140 million in prefixes. At the moment it is the selling game system.
Note that the PS2 has continued to enjoy good demand, despite the fact that in November 2006 in the sale came a new generation console. According to the company NPD Group, in November, residents of the United States bought 206 thousand PlayStation 2. This PlayStation 3 reached the mark in the 378 thousand consoles.
Added that currently the cost of PS2 in the U.S. is 130 dollars. Initially, this prefix was sold at a price of 299 dollars.
