The new standard will allow HD-display images at 120 frames per second or support at the hardware level, two images of the need for stereoscopic technology. One connector enough to support four monitors with a resolution of 1920 to 1200 pixels or two with a resolution of 2560 by 1600 pixels.
The current version of DisplayPort adopted in April 2007, has a number of 1.1 and supports under the same parameters, only the 2560 settlement by 1600 pixels.
While the DisplayPort is not very widespread and has been used in only a few monitors. One of the first mini-version of the plug in their laptops and monitors began to use the corporation Apple. There is a possibility that the Mini DisplayPort will be adopted as an official standard for notebooks. More precisely the position of Apple and VESA to the matter will be determined by mid-2009.
