Company Skartel "operating under the brand name Yota, intends to invest 170 million dollars in networking wireless WiMax, Kommersant daily reports.
Part of the money provided "Skartelu" in the form of a loan fund Telconet, will be spent on the commercial launch of WiMax in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as part of - the deployment of networks in Ufa, Russia, Sochi, Krasnodar and two other Russian cities.
It was expected that in regions of the fourth-generation networks, promoted "Skartelom" have to compete with the networks 3G, which has not yet been deployed in Moscow. Total "Skartel has already spent on the development of 300 million dollars.
The use of the network Yota is free of charge until 31 May 2009. Then the cost of unlimited monthly access will be from 900 to 1400 rubles. To connect to its network Skartel sells as modules for mobile devices, and the world's first communicator that supports WiMax HTC Max 4G.
