Hitachi lost for the first nine months of four billion dollars.

Japan's Hitachi Corporation for the last quarter of calendar year 2008 (third quarter of fiscal 2008) has lost because of the crisis of 4,1 billion dollars. Over the last nine months of 2008 net loss amounted to 3.9 billion dollars. This is stated in the financial report of Hitachi.
Over the past three and nine months of the year the Company obtained 24.8 and 83.2 billion dollars respectively. The company expects that by March 31, 2009, when the fiscal year 2008 net loss would be 7.1 billion dollars.
According to Hitachi, revenues in fiscal year 2008 amount to 101.2 billion dollars. This 11 per cent less than in 2007. For example, proceeds from the sale of electronic devices over the last quarter of 2008 fell by 13 per cent of the power and industrial systems - a 15 per cent of consumer products and digital media - 25 per cent.
Hitachi is not the first Japanese corporation, faced with the consequences of the crisis. Net loss in the NEC fiscal year 2008, predicted the company would amount to 3,2 billion dollars. Hitachi to cut costs at the end of January had already decided to dismiss the seven thousand employees.
