AMD has developed four energy-efficient processor.

AMD Company has developed four new energy-efficient processor families Athlon, reports Fudzilla. They were established in compliance with 45-nanometer production methods. A distinctive feature of chips - the lack of cache memory third level.
One of these processors is a Quad chip Athlon X4 605e. Its operating frequency is 2.5 GHz, the cache second level - two megabytes. Power consumption of the chip, which should occur no later than the second quarter of 2009, is 65 watts.
Less powerful Athlon X4 6xxe will operate at a frequency of 2.1 to 2.4 gigahertz. Its exact value will be determined closer to the release of the chip, which is scheduled for the middle of the second quarter. Power consumption of this processor is 45 watts.
Two other new energy-efficient processor AMD - Athlon X3 405e trehyadernye and Athlon X3 4xxe. They are built on a core Rana. Power chips are 65 and 45 watts respectively.
Working frequency Athlon X3 405e - 2,5 GHz. This processor will be presented early in the second quarter of 2009. Frequency Athlon X3 4xxe will be determined nearer the date of the premiere of the chip and the amount of 2,1 to 2,4 GHz. The processor will appear in the middle of the second quarter.
In late January 2009, AMD announced energy-efficient processors from a family of Opteron HE. They are made in compliance with 45-nanometer production methods. Their power does not exceed 55 watts.
